If You’re Flying…

Wilmington International Airport (ILM) is, in a word, charming. It’s not every day an airport can be considered delightful, but ILM really is. No long lines, plenty of Southern hospitality, and the most modern convenience everywhere you turn.

Serviced by Delta, US Airways, and Allegiant Air, flights arrive from several major hubs: Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).

Once you’re here, all the usual rental car companies have your car waiting, or several local taxi companies are lined up to take you where you need to go. Maps are available, Wilmington, NC and the Cape Fear Coast roads are clearly marked, and the absolute farthest beach front hotel is less than 30 minutes away. Martin Luther King Parkway connects Historic Downtown Wilmington to Wrightsville Beach in about 10 minutes.

Talk about easy access… Wilmington, NC and the Cape Fear Coast connect to the world-at-large via several major highways and state roads.

Our beautiful beaches, great golf courses, fabulous restaurants, world-class hotels, sensational shopping, and awesome attractions are situated at the end of I-40 east, two fast hours from the state capital, Raleigh, NC.

Highway 17 also runs right through Wilmington, NC and the Cape Fear Coast. Jacksonville, NC is 45 minutes to the north on Highway 17, and Myrtle Beach, SC is one hour to the south. Charleston, SC is three hours to the south.

Highway 74 is another state artery that stops here, and Charlotte, NC, The Queen City, is three and one half hours west on Highway 74.
